Smoked Salmon Recipe

Ingredients
Japanese sushi rice (2 cups)
Avocado – peeled and sliced (1)
Cucumber – peeled and sliced (1)
Rice wine vinegar (6 tablespoons)
Nori -dry seaweed (6 sheets)
Wasabi paste (8 ounces)
Smoked salmon – cut into long strips (8 ounces)

Preparation
Before you begin this recipe, you would need to soak the rice for at least 4 hours. Then, drain the rice and cook it with 2 cups of water in a cooker. Once cooked, add around 6 tablespoons of rice vinegar. Once done, spread the rice on a plate so that it cools down.
Take a bamboo mat and place a sheet of seaweed on this. You now need to press a thin layer of rice onto this seaweed sheet. But ensure you leave at least ½ inch of the top and bottom edge in an uncovered state. Add some of the wasabi paste onto the rice carefully. Then, place avocado, cucumber and smoked salmon on the rice but while doing so, ensure you place them at the bottom edge of the seaweed.
Meanwhile, moisten the top edge of the seaweed. Then, roll the top edge and use the bamboo mat to make it into a tight roll. Now, cut the roll into 8 pieces. The same procedure can be repeated with all the other rolls and these rolls would now be ready to be devoured.

Smoked Salmon Recipe


This is an interesting salmon with spaghetti recipe.

Main Ingredients
Thin Spaghetti (3 to 4 oz)
Leaf Lettuce bite-size pieces (1 cup)
Cucumber quartered and sliced (1/2)
Fresh Dill (3 large sprigs)
Green Onions (1- 2)
Smoked Salmon flaked (3 to 4 oz)

Ingredients for Dressing
Fat free/low fat Sour Cream (1/4 cup)
Lemon Juice (1 Tbsp)
Yogurt (2 Tbsp)

Ingredients for Garnish
Tomato wedges (1)
Parsley sprigs

Preparation
First, you need to cook the pasta in boiling salted water. Once cooked, drain the same. Rinse the pasta under cold water and drain again. Now, combine the main salad ingredients in a bowl. Keep a few salmon flakes aside, which can be used later. Meanwhile, take a separate bowl and combine all the ingredients for dressing together. Now, mix the cooked pasta along with the rest of the salad ingredients. Follow this up by adding the dressing. Toss it lightly so that it mixes well. Use the smoked salmon flakes as garnish along with tomatoes and parsley. Chill this preparation and serve.

Ingredients
Cream Cheese (1 large pack)
Garlic powder (1/4 teaspoon)
Onion powder (1/2 teaspoon)
Sweet onion -finely minced (1 large)
Smoked salmon (8 oz)
Crackers

Preparation
First, you need to cut the onion into quarter-sized pieces. Then, place the onion in the food processor. Ensure they are chopped evenly. Once done, make around 4 sections of the cream cheese and add it to the processor. You also need to add the garlic powder as well as the onion powder to the same mixture. Now, blend the preparation until the onions are minced well.
Meanwhile, cut the smoked salmon into large strips. You should be able to fit these strips of salmon on crackers. Now, spread the cream cheese mixture prepared earlier on the cracker. Use another strip of salmon to cover the same. You can even add some onion powder for an added flavor.

Ingredients
Salmon drained and flaked (1 can)
Cucumber peeled and chopped (1 medium)
Chopped celery (1/2 cup)
Radishes sliced (4)
Lettuce/Mixed salad greens
Green bell pepper chopped (1/2 small)
Mayonnaise (1/2 cup)
Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
Grated onion (1 teaspoon)

Preparation:

Make a combination of cucumber along with celery and add some radish and green bell pepper to this. Then, make a combination of mayonnaise and lemon juice with onion and add this to the salmon mixture. Blend well. This preparation can be chilled as well. Once chilled, serve it in a bowl and line this bowl with lettuce or even the mixed greens.

Ingredients
Butter (1 tablespoon)
All-purpose flour (1 tablespoon)
Chopped parsley
Milk (3 cups)
Onion (1 slice)
Salmon 1 can (16 ounces)

Preparation:
Melt some butter over medium heat in a pan. Now, add some flour. Now, in a separate saucepan, boil milk and add a slice of onion to this. Salmon Herb Fillet:
Ingredients:

  • Medium sized salmon fillets, 2
  • Double cream, ½ cup
  • Crushed black peppercorn, 1 tbsp
  • Crushed white peppercorn, ½ tbsp
  • Dijon mustard, 1 tsp
  • Butter, 1 tbsp
  • White wine, 2 tbsp
  • Chopped chives, 3 tbsp
  • Salt, to taste

In a small bowl, mix both; black and white peppercorn together. Drizzle Dijon mustard over salmon fillets and coat it from all sides. Now sprinkle crushed peppercorn into the cut sides of the salmon. Mask the fillets completely with it. Season with salt and set aside. In a heavy fry pan, heat butter and fry fillet on medium flame until both sides are browned. Turn the heat onto full and pour in white wine over fillets. Once the wine completely evaporates, pour the cream. Scraping all sides around the fillets on full heat, bring the sauce to a boil, until it thickens. Add more seasoning if needed. Reduce heat and simmer for a couple of minutes. Serve fillet hot with chives garnish and some hot rice.

Baked Salmon Fillet Recipe
Ingredients:

  • Salmon fillets, 1 pound
  • Whiskey, 1 tbsp
  • Mayonnaise, 5 tbsp
  • Chopped dill, 1 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon juice, 2 tbsp
  • Melted butter, 1 tbsp

For each fillet, have a separate foil packet. Brush butter on the foil, place fillet on it. Brush butter once again, coating both sides. Dab lemon juice over the fillet, sprinkle some whiskey and season with salt and pepper. Bring the folds of the foil together, to make a packet. Bake salmon in a preheated oven at 300 degrees F for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk dill, mayonnaise, leftover lemon juice and salt and pepper. Serve fillets hot with the dill-mayonnaise sauce poured over it.

Grilled Salmon Fillet Recipe
Ingredients:

  • Salmon fillet, ½ pound
  • Parmesan cheese, 2 tsp
  • Lime juice, 1 tbsp
  • Wine vinegar, 1 tbsp
  • Grated lemon rind, 1 tsp
  • Crushed dried herb, 1 tsp
  • Soy sauce, 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder, ½ tsp
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

In a bowl combine together, lemon juice, wine vinegar, lemon rind, dried herb, garlic powder and soy sauce. Place fillet on a foil and pour over fish. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese atop and season. Place a pan on a grill and place fish fillet on it. Cover grill and cook for 20 minutes. The grilled cooked fish should flak easily with a fork.

Grilled Salmon Fillet Sandwich
Ingredients:

  • Salmon boneless fillet, 4 four ounces
  • Fresh herbs, 2 tsp
  • White pepper, ¼ tsp
  • Olive oil, 2 tbsp
  • Fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp
  • Cooking oil, 1 tbsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sandwich bread, 4 slices

Prepare marinade using oil, lemon juice, herbs, salt and white pepper. Place fillet in a dish, making sure they don’t overlap each other. Marinade fillet, cover and refrigerate for half an hour. Cook fish either on a fry pan or on a grill until cooked. Place fillet between sandwich bread slices and serve.

Basic Salmon Croquette Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pink salmon
  • 2 tablespoons yellow corn meal
  • 2 whole eggs
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup onion, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Preparation
In a large mixing bowl, combine pink salmon, chopped onion, corn meal, ground pepper, salt and eggs together. With a potato masher, mash the ingredients until they are well combined. Add flour to the mixture and roll to make a mold that is similar to a dough. Once this is done, preheat a frying pan with a small amount of cooking oil and when it gets fully heated, roll the dough into small rolls and place it on the frying pan. Fry them till one side of the roll has become brown and then turn them so that the other side also gets fried properly. Serve hot with steam rice.

Baked Salmon Croquettes Recipe
Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon, canned
  • ¼ cup onion, minced
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper, minced
  • 1 cup fine bread crumbs, divided
  • ¼ cup celery, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon hot chili sauce
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill weed
  • Milk
  • Cooking spray oil

Preparation
In a measuring cup, drain the liquid from the salmon can. Pour milk into it to fill one cup and set aside. Take a medium sized bowl and combine bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese together. In another large bowl, flake the salmon and throw away the large bones found in it. Once you have done this, melt butter in a skillet and fry onions, celery and red peppers in it till they become tender. Add flour to this mixture and cook for a minute while stirring continuously. Pour the milk mixture into the skillet and cook till it attains a thick consistency. Take the skillet off the heat and put in the flaked salmon, chives, lemon juice, ½ cup of bread crumbs and cheese mixture, dill weed and hot sauce into it. Mix well and store the mixture in the refrigerator till it becomes firm.
For baking salmon croquettes, preheat the oven at a temperature of 400° F. On a baking sheet, line a non stick foil and spray it with little oil. Take out the chilled salmon mixture and roll them into the size of patties. Take the remaining bread crumbs on a plate and press the salmon patties into them so that they are completely coated. Place these patties on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 – 25 minutes till they become golden in color. Place the baked salmon croquettes in a serving dish and serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

Baked Salmon in Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ounce salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of dill
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • ¼ cup of lemon juice
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 cup of reduced fat cream cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Slice the fillets into four pieces and preheat the oven at 425°F.
  • Season the fillets with salt, pepper lemon juice, dill leaves and olive oil.
  • For better marination, make slits on the flesh. This will allow all the juices and flavors to seep in. Let this sit for about 30 minutes.
  • Next, cover the fish in foil and bake it in the preheated oven for 15 – 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake it for another 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, add milk and cream to the cheese. In a double boiler, stir this mixture till all the ingredients melt completely. The mixture must reach a thick consistency. Put in the onion powder for the flavor.
  • Remove the fillets onto a serving plate and pour the cheese sauce on it. Serve this hot with some white wine.

Parmesan Cheese Baked Salmon

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 teaspoonful lemon juice
  • 10 crushed crackers
  • 2 tablespoonful grated Parmesan cheese
  • teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Method

  • Preheat the oven at 400°F, and season the fillets with lemon juice and a little bit of pepper. Once again make the slits for better marination.
  • In a bowl, mix a bowl of mayonnaise, grated mayonnaise and the remaining pepper. Use a blender to mix all these ingredients well.
  • Next, spread this mixture evenly on the salmon fillets and cover them with foil. Sprinkle the crackers on top and place it in the oven.
  • Bake it for about 15 – 20 minutes till the salmon easily breaks off with a fork.

Salmon Baked with Cheese and Spinach

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets without skin
  • ¾ cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoon melted butter
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • Salt, pepper and nutmeg
  • 2 cups olive oil

Method

  • Wash the spinach and boil it for a while, till the leaves wilt.
  • Throw away the water and add nutmeg, salt and pepper to the cooked spinach. Pour in the cream cheese too and whip it well.
  • Make a half-inch slit in the salmon fillet and fill it with the spinach mixture.
  • In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, butter and Parmesan cheese. Blend these well and top the layer of salmon with this mix.
  • Next, brush the fillet with the remaining olive oil and place it in a preheated oven at 450°F. Bake for 10 to 15 mins.

Honey-Mustard Grilled Salmon Fillet

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish, drained
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 2 pound fillet salmon, skin on
  • 2 tablespoons aged sherry vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 bunch watercress, coarsely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper, for taste

Directions
In a bowl, whisk in the mustards, horseradish, honey, mint, salt and black pepper. Leave it to mix for about 15 minutes before you use it. Brush some oil over the salmon and season with salt and black pepper. Keeping the skin side facing down, place the salmon fillets on the grill, and cook for about 3 minutes or till the fish turns golden brown. As the salmon cooks, take a bowl to mix in the watercress and onion. Then pour in vinegar, oil, and some more salt and black pepper. Mix everything together and place the salad on a serving platter. Take the grilled salmon fillets and place on top of the salad. Before serving, pour the honey-mustard sauce on top.

Oven Grilled Salmon Asian-style

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1, 3 lb side fresh salmon, boned, skin on
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil

Directions
Before we begin making this easy grilled salmon in oven, preheat the oven at 450º F. On the cutting board, place the salmon skin side down and cut criss-cross pieces, about 4 pieces. In a bowl, whisk together mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, and garlic together. Now, marinate the salmon pieces in it and let it sit for half an hour. Grease a broiler pan with some cooking spray and place the salmon in it. Bake for about 10-12 minutes and turn the oven to broil. Cook the fish for about 5 more minutes. Once the salmon is cooked, serve with some boiled white rice.

Miso-Ginger Grilled Salmon

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup white miso
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 1, ½ tablespoons ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, minced
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 4 salmon fillets, 8 ounces each
  • Salt and black pepper, for taste
  • Yuzu juice, for drizzling

Directions

Before we start to grill the fish, take a bowl to whisk together miso, mirin, soy sauce, vinegar, minced green onions, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Take a baking dish, place the salmon in it, and pour the marinade on all sides. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator. Heat the grill till the salmon is in the refrigerator. Take the fish out of the marinade and sprinkle some salt and pepper on top. Place the skin side down over the grill. Let the fish turn golden brown which will take about 3-4 minutes. Grill the other side as well. Now drizzle some yuzu juice over the fish and serve hot.
